Exploring pharmacy through shadowing is a great way to learn about the many career pathways within the profession. ETSU Bill Gatton College of Pharmacy is pleased to offer limited shadowing opportunities for students interested in learning more about pharmacy practice.
Step 1: Attend a Pharmacy Career Showcase
Before a shadowing experience can be scheduled, students are required to attend a Pharmacy Career Showcase at Gatton. These admissions events are offered each fall and spring (find here) and provide an overview of pharmacy career pathways, along with opportunities to connect with faculty, student pharmacists, and staff.
Step 2: Submit a Shadowing Interest Application
Students may submit a Shadowing Interest Application after attending or registering to attend a Career Showcase. Once the Career Showcase requirement has been met, students may submit the Shadowing Interest Application for review:
Submission of an application does not guarantee placement, as shadowing opportunities are limited.
Shadowing Guidelines
Please review the following expectations before applying:
- Shadowing opportunities are limited and offered based on availability
- Experiences are typically scheduled Monday–Friday
- Morning: 8:00 AM–12:00 PM
- Afternoon: 1:00 PM–5:00 PM
- Each student is limited to one shadowing experience
- If approved, additional site-specific applications, forms, or compliance requirements may be required prior to shadowing
