Bachelor of Applied Science
The Bachelor of Applied Science degree offers students with Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degrees or the equivalent the opportunity to obtain a baccalaureate degree by transferring in more of their AAS credits than normally may be transferred to traditional majors.
This program offers three concentration areas: Culinary Leadership, Industrial Leadership, and Professional Development.
BAS Program Requirements
All Bachelor’s degrees from ETSU require a minimum of 120 earned credits. All students
must have an ETSU GPA of 2.0 and (if applicable) a transfer GPA of 2.0 to graduate
with a degree from ETSU. All students earning a degree from ETSU are required to have
a minimum of 30 credits earned at ETSU (or online as an ETSU student) and a minimum
of 50 credits earned at a 4-year institution. A student cannot graduate without having
met all degree program requirements.

Who is eligible for admission to the BAS program?
Students who have already earned an AAS degree or the equivalent. Students who have previously earned a four-year degree are not eligible to enroll in the BAS program. Due to the unique nature of the BAS degree, BAS students may not double major. Students who have completed an Associate of Science (AS) degree are not eligible to enroll in the BAS program; however, these students may enroll in the Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies program. -
What is required to get started in the BAS program?

- Schedule an advising appointment to begin developing your program of study.

The BAS program will create a bridge between your learned technical skills and applied academic theory, and can provide you with an avenue for career enhancement. For some, advancing from technician to supervisor or manager requires a bachelor’s degree. -
Can I individualize my studies?
Yes— students have the option to pursue the Professional Development concentration. Students may complete their degree by designing a personalized concentration with advisor-approved coursework.
