The ETSU Cabling Installation Standard (CIS) provides guidance for installers to ensure the successful implementation of ICT/communications cabling systems and passive cabling components at ETSU. All ETSU cabling systems are vendor-neutral and based on recognized industry standards.
The CIS addresses frequently asked questions regarding ETSU’s installation practices and is not a substitute for industry-accepted knowledge, standards, specifications, or codes. It is not project-specific and cannot account for all installation conditions.
The purpose of the CIS is to define the minimum acceptable methods for cabling installation
and related components and to be used in conjunction with the ETSU Communications
Design Standard. All work must be performed by licensed, certified, insured, and experienced
professionals. Installers are responsible for delivering a compliant end product using
accepted best practices.
