Graduate School Orientation and Welcome Event

Start your graduate school journey off right by joining us on January 15, 2026, in Ballroom B (third floor) of the Culp Student Center from 3:00 – 6:00 PM. During this event, you’ll discover resources for success, learn about important aspects of graduate student life, and connect with other graduate students. Check-in begins promptly at 3:00 PM. Refreshments will be provided.

This orientation is in person only and open to all graduate students, whether your program is on-ground, online, or hybrid. Please note that we do not provide a live or recorded virtual option. We would love to have you join us in person, but there is no penalty if you cannot attend. If you’re unable to join us, you can still explore our Graduate Student Toolkit at your own pace.

Graduate Teaching Assistant/Associate Orientation

This Orientation will be offered during the FALL start terms only.

If you are a GA who will have some classroom responsibilities as a teaching assistant working with a professor, teaching your own class, running, or assisting with labs, you need to attend this orientation. If you are a GA not working with students but think this orientation would be of benefit, you are welcome to attend.

New International Student Orientation is arequired event for new international students at ETSU. Orientation provides an opportunity for students to connect with others at the university and successfully launch into their life at East Tennessee State University.
International students planning to start in the spring 2026 semester need to plan on arriving on January 13, 2026. Please contact the Office of International Enrollment and Services for specific details.
